The Morgue

Ultra Woman lay on the table, her big blue eyes staring up at the plain white ceiling. Unmoving, her perfect Amazon body lay on the cold steel table in the cold room. By a small table, the coroner was finishing his report on his initial observation of the deceased superheroine.

The coroner went to the door as if to leave, but hesitated and looked back. "Such a shame.." he sighed. "Let me do one more thing," he told the orderly as the two men left, "then we'll put her in a cabinet until later."

The morgue went dark. A single, unmoving figure remained, the white toetag moving gently from the movement of the closing door.

Lying on the metal table, Ultra Woman stared ahead. 'They have no idea I am still alive!' she thought to herself. The evil Demonseed, a man given powers by Hades, had ambushed the heroine. Her skin was impenetrable, but the mystic dagger had penetrated her chest. Instead of killing her, the dagger had instantly drained the life from her body. Lying on the floor of her own office, Ultra Woman had been helpless as Demonseed circled her, opened up her mouth and thrust a second dagger into her. The smoking, mystic daggers had put her body into a statis-like state. Her mind was active, but her body appeared to be dead.

'Someone have the courage to pull out these daggers before this becomes permanent!' she thought. Unable to do anything but lie on the table, Ultra Woman was utterly helpless as the attendant came back in to prep her for storage...

So I said there might be a few dark things here!!

  1. Now THOSE are some scary daggers! Poor Ultra Woman! Maybe she'll get lucky and someone will want a closer look at those daggers. If not, well, I suppose it was nice knowing her.

Might be interesting if she did die and then her soul was spirited away (haha) to hell by the demon that slew her. I imagine all manner of interesting things might happen then :D

  2. This may be darker in tone than your usual images but it is just as well done. The daggars have put our heroine in an intriguing peril.

  3. I agree with G-8, the artwork is beautiful. I just avoid death (even temporary death) in my stories and manips, because being in the military, it was WAY to real in the worst possible way for me and of course we do this stuff to indulge our fantasies. For me a superheroine who is knocked out cold is equally helpless, but there is the promise of recovery and (hopefully) the desire to return and get revenge ( or justice, whatever!!). Killing a super honey like Ultra Woman is just wasteful!!

    1. I would not even do permanent death or any gore in any of these, but death in a dream sequence or, for example, while trapped in an evil video game, seems very much like a comic book taken to the next level... :)

  4. I thought these darker perils were meant to be What If or Alternate Universe scenarios and not part of the official Ultra Woman continuity so the Amazon's demise was a possibility. Not that I particularly want to see her die. That's your decesion to make as the artist.

  5. Ouch! The high cost of being a heroine.
